NEWBASE Mobile Refrigerated Box: Self-Propelled Cold Chain for Last-Mile Distribution

In a cold chain, product is lost less in transit than at the handover points — the short moves between depot, vehicle and final shelf where a fixed refrigerated body cannot easily follow. The NEWBASE mobile refrigerated box closes that gap: a self-contained, self-propelled unit that carries its own refrigeration and drive, so temperature control stays with the goods all the way to the door. For operators serving supermarkets, convenience stores, catering and pharmaceutical routes, it removes a recurring weak point — keeping product cold through the many short, frequent stops that a large fixed-body truck cannot make economically.

The range is offered in two models built on the same proven platform. The NBRV-300 provides a 1.5 m³ effective volume with a 1500 × 1000 × 1000 mm internal compartment and a 250 kg rated load, while the larger NBRV-400 steps up to 1.8 m³, a 1800 × 1100 × 1200 mm compartment and a 400 kg load. Both share a 75 mm polyurethane insulation layer and a side single-door layout, with an optional dual-temperature partition for mixed fresh and frozen deliveries.

Refrigeration is provided by a rotary DC compressor running a digital thermostat with an on-box temperature display. The compartment covers 0 °C to 10 °C for refrigerated cargo and –18 °C to –10 °C for frozen, pulling down from +25 °C to –18 °C in roughly thirty minutes. Because the compressor runs directly from the onboard battery, cooling is independent of a separate power source and can continue while the box is parked between drops. Internally the box is finished with LED lighting and an anti-slip floor for safe, clean handling at every stop.

Because the box is driven as well as cooled, it moves under its own power. A permanent-magnet synchronous motor and a 60 V 58 Ah battery deliver an 80–100 km driving range at up to 40 km/h with a 15% climbing ability, supported by front and rear drum brakes and a reinforced leaf-spring suspension. Sealed to IP65 and finished with LED headlights and turn signals, it is built for repeated daily service across urban routes, and the sealed construction protects the electronics through wash-downs and wet weather.
